Are You STRETCHING Out To Your Limit?
Maybe, possibly, perhaps, but in most cases you are probably not STRETCHED out enough.. The reality of the subject is that many people either don’t know or choose not to accept and therefore not to believe the following..
1. A lack of flexibility can be attributed to some physically and physiologically negative aspects.
2. Proper routine stretching can be attributed to many physical and physiological benefits.
And still, for many of us individuals who do in fact embrace stretching, there are a great many of us who never really make stretching an integral part of our fitness lifestyle and therefore the few minutes a day that it takes to perform a stretching routine, ends up seeming like more of an inconvenience of our time than a worthwhile benefit to our overall wellness.
Take the time, make the time, and you will most likely feel better each time.
Some Negative Aspects Of Being Inflexible:
- Increased risk for injury
- Decreased flexibility and mobility
- Decreased muscle coordination
- Decreased muscle metabolism
- Decreased speed and power output
Some Of The Benefits Of Being Routinely Stretched:
- Improves flexibility and range of motion – Stretching allows you to push your body beyond its normal range of motion, providing better balance, which will help keep you mobile and less susceptible to falls and associated risk of injury. This in turn helps to increase your overall physical ability and capabilities.
- Improves circulation – Stretching increases the blood flow to your muscles, helping to remove lactic acid buildup, thus improving your circulation and physical recovery time.
- Relieves stress – Stretching relaxes tense muscles that are often accompanied with physical stress but stretching can also help to relax your mind as well.
- Improves posture, technique and function – Stretching prevents muscles and joints from seizing up and improves elasticity, allowing better posture, technique and function.
- Increase the length of relaxed muscles
- Increased power and elasticity of our muscles
- Increased endurance and metabolism
