The Sanaa Lathan Foundation is empowering youths in the foster care system

American actress and voice actress; Sanaa Lathan is leading the vitally necessary way through her ‘Sanaa Lathan Foundation’ which is helping to empower youths in the foster care system despite the tremendous adversity they have  experienced; to evolve into successful adults.

 

Our mission is to help young girls aging out of the foster care system make successful transition into adulthood; thereby avoiding high rates of incarceration, unemployment, sexual exploitation and homelessness. Primary Goals Of The Foundation

  • Significantly transform the future of children and teenagers who have spent time in foster care through self-esteem and support.
  • Shine a light on the challenges of foster youth who are breaking the cycle of neglect and abuse and empowering themselves to thrive in the real-world as independent adults.

Trainer Z Commentary: I myself having had the enlightening opportunity to work 9 years in a shelter for homeless mother’s and their children can recognize the motivation for a call to action to help underprivileged children.

When it comes down to it; eventually and ultimately it’s all about the children and us adults giving them positive perspectives and incentives beyond what may be a not so pretty view of life resulting from a life of negativity so that they themselves can become productively empowered adults.
